Tuesday EPIC road spin report !

This is an experiment with the Forums capabilities so bear with me.

Right so a big herd of mixed riders turned up for Richard Ls road spin, for the past 2 weeks its just been me, Damo and him mainly because of the sh*t weather. For whatever reason everybody and his mate turned up tonight and off we went..we went at exactly the same pace as last week and the week before except instead of me up the front chatting to Damo or Rchard I was up the front chatting to John Doris..somehow this caused a rupture in the space/time continuum and we dropped most of the club going up the hill from Kilternan and Richard scolded us severely..which was weird because I wasn't actually pedalling at the time and Doris was standing up on the pedals.
Anyhow, we got to Windgates and I had to have a wee..so i burst on ahead and stopped and as usual I couldn't find my *****, which had now become a weenis inside my tights..as Doris shouted at me as he zipped past me as i fumbled in somebodys driveway for the weenis..Richard rumbled by with the peloton in tow urging them to go as fast as they could to put as much distance as they could between me and them.
So I stuffed the weenis into my tights and off I went..
I caught them a few minutes later at the bottom of the hill and off we went again..through Greystones and in to Delgany when somebody went piffftsshhhh..so I assumed EPIC road rules applied and kept going, however it wasn't until I reached the black hole of the Glen of the downs that I realised that there was only me and Damo and two people who claimed to be members but I couldn't remember the last time I saw them on a mountainbike. So we waited for a few minutes twiddling along the black hole and it was getting chilly so we kept going..
we were hoofing along chatting away towing the two faux members when a train of about 8 boys came from the right at a speed that wouldn't be out of place in the Killing Fields of the Tour De Dope.
Off we went and reached the hill up to Maddocks and dropped Andy but Damo was feeling very warm and fuzzy and convinced me to slow up for him. So off we went and for some bizarre reason Andy and Rob decided to head up towards Kilternan and left us at Flans Estate..
We kept along and I realised my rear wheel was soft, so I stopped put some air in and kept going, then we stopped on the N11 to watch Robin and Evan and a cast of 5 or 6 perform the dance of the sugar plum fairies..in the park in Cherrywood..
then as if by miracle , Smithers appeared out of nowhere so the 3 of us had a hug and off we went , i peeled off at Johnstown road and the two boys headed home .
Lovely report, how's your weenis now hahaha weenis deadly!!! I too had weenis moment I felt a bit shall we say sore and decided to have rumage around my under crackers to sort it out but there it was gone!!! I didn't feel that cold but hey your weenis never lies!!
no..my weenis was suffering from cramped crotch syndrome brought on by incorrect italian tights sizing, it said medium but I think they are a small, I am struggling to get my tights up past my thighs but when I do the feckin things seem to be clamping to my nethers like a cocaine addled gummy gobbling prozzie..and it appears to cut the circulation off to my weenis..shrinking it to a very incompetent size and by the way , my lovely wife of 20 odd years coined that phrase..and you are dead right, the weenis never lies. Except when transexuals are involved !
Go on ya good thing Richie!

Great spin for a Tues night, cheers Richard L for organising it; had no idea where I was for most of the night which was great.
Good report Richie.Funny enough,I had'nt a clue where I was for most of the spin either!!
Great report Richie! Funny, I had the same trouble at the top of Wingates! I am blamimg the cold weather! Didn't realise how long a spin it turned out to be in the end. Good route although don't like the start out to Loughlinstown roundabout or the N11/Southern Cross bits otherwise all good...

I agree Ken - I hate riding on the N11 too but it's hard to avoid it at this time of the year especially with a bigger group!
I might have a look at a few routes and run them by you...

well if I was in charge I would start it at Foxrock Church but go up to Glenamuck via Foxrock..only saying. I don't see anything wrong with the N11 Southern Cross bit..i really like the Maddocks climb alternative and the Ferndale road bit.
only saying..I'll be there next week even if there a whole herd of Cattle because they will all stay at home if its wet and I wouldn't let Richard ride on his own and besides I want to see how he keeps everybody in line. I still think that if you are going on these spins you need a decent level of fitness and speed and be able to go at the front for your turn.
just saying

There's only one person that I need to keep in line..... and if he behaves himself everything else will fall into place!!!!

If the stronger guys do more then their share at the front then they get a decent workout and the slightly weaker riders can hang on too! It just requires the people at the front to be aware of what is going on behind them! A spin like this is only a success if the group arrives home as a unit!
