Tonight I went on a Mountainbike spins with one old friend, two Cork peoples ( on Male one Female) another old friend who I brought climbing when he was a nipper in College, one of our top ladees and some lad who I didn't know but who had a fuuny accent and bloddy 3/4 length short. For the record I despise the 3/4 length Short look..ok.
Anyway..it took feckin ages to get to Dogsh*t central or Kindlestown with all the bloody traffic but we hadn't been there for ages and I am sick to my speedoes of 3 rock.
Now as time goes on in the Mtb world somethings just don't keep up..straight in to the bloody trail and I discovered that my handlebars are too wide for the bloody entrance..so I had to do a shuffle with Harri behind me on his pile o ****e cube and off we went up to the mast..Straight in to the singletrack..and it was all noodles and squish with the trail running back and forth across off camber roots and holes full of dog scented puddles..a fup and ew screams and we arrived at the bottom..regrouped and away we went until we lost frickin Irelands answer to jacgues Cousteau..Steve ..but then we hadn't , the snaky fecker took a shortcut..you'd know he wasnt a member of EPIC ..if you did that on an actual EPIC spin you'd have Lynchy spitting his baileys creme and taking notes..
anyway..after clattering off a few more trees we made it out in to the Car Park and I had to have a pee..praise jeebus, no problem finding my ***** on an mtb spin, which proves that MTB = ***** enlargement..
Off to the Glen of the Diddlies and I got us lost then Steve got us lost and then Erica found the right way and everybody was happy..down the gnarly trail where I singlehandly removed a mighty Oak off the track and down by the Eucalyptus trees..
Then up the long draggy climb , down the singletrack, through the tunnel and down the drop..well only me did the drop, the rest of them got their skirts caught in the knickers and wouldn't do it..
down the switchbacks, along the river and back up the draggy climb and back to the cars..not a bad little spin great for Erica and Ronan O who had never been there..
Thanks to Harri, Jacqui, Ronan, Erica, Steve and Barry for a dry and deadly spin around two of Irelands little Gems..
