So I think I should start with the fact I'm going to rename this little series of series of spins to the 'The spin formally known as the Fatboy spin' or something else because there were a whole bunch of people who shown up who need to work on their pie eating before they are eligible to call them self fat.
When I rolled up to Djouce there was Eric getting he bike sorted of course I presumed she was all set for another spin not to be slumming it with the 'unfit' people, she was dressed with enough kit worth of any hill walker (including football socks??????) I wasn't sure where she though we were going because it was a fantastic day in Djouce.
Erica was up marshalled the pace up front and I kept thing moving at the back with some health encouragement, Oliva did comment I was more nicer than Richie when it came to encouragement but I'm not sure she felt the same by the time we were finished.
As this was the first one of these spins I'm running the pace was pretty social on the climbs but when it came to the descents it clear some folks had the red mist caught up with them resulting in a few off's but nothing too serious.
Now I have to come clear after me harping on to people not to forget anything of course I set off without a pump, two tyre burps later I was forced to use Erica's mini micro pump! That thing has to be seen to be believed.
To add insult to injury Iomair had a flat and pulled out this pump that was so James Bond I dropped into Richies new shop after the spin to buy a CO2 inflater so I'll not be caught out again.
While Iomair changed a tube we stood around discussing the awesomeness of a Tubeless set up, Erica informed us that if we were girls on an Epic spin one of the lads would just do it for you. I didn't take a photo but I'm sure anyone else who was there can confirm it sounded a like this.
Apart from that we did loads of trails there were a couple of spectacular crashes with Iomair's drop off to faceplant onto the fire road above GC that takes top honours. We only scratched the surface of all the trails Djouce has to offer so we will be back here again, the sun was shining and the trails were mostly dry. Sure what more could you want from a November morning.

There will be another spin next week time and location to be confirmed but as the Epic AGM is on Friday night the follow on spin in this wee series will be on Sunday. If you didn't make this spin you are welcome to come on the next one. The aim is each week to up the pace / take a few less breaks than previous week, so i's important to get out on your bike during the week as well.
