is irish xc racing fcuked ? aside from the nps and blitz series i can only find one event for 2013 , in five minutes i could find over one hundred in the uk !

I'm saying nothing because I don't care, I have sold my soul to Enduro and XC Marathon racing in other countries, however I intend to help Max as much as I can to improve the XC situation here by using my website www.xcomtb.ie and by attending and encouraging attendance at the XC NPS and the Blitzes, what are you going to do ? I told you, i'm saying nothing or you will say something like, " how come you're the only one who answers my posts "

not to mention the Enduro scene which will be big in 2013
now thats about 4 1/2 months of racing
not sure how im going to fit it all in..

in fairness though there's plenty of races out there, anyway I dont think I could afford (or be arsed) to drive the length and breath of the country to race... plus club races every week and this year it's gonna be dry and fast all year...

What are you on about Ger you mad yoke, there is more races that most of us can afford to enter.
There are XC races every 2 weeks from early Feb until late July, plus the Enduros, Munster XC series, Ulster XC series, and a few standalone events.
Plus a big international event in Ballyhoura.

There's loads of XC racing to choose from Ger - as well as the NPS and Blitz series there's also The Lough Derg Challange, the 795 race and separate XC race series in both Ulster and Munster!
I think what you're really getting at is that there's very little in the way of marathon type events in the calendar? As you know that's where my personal interest lies too and like you I would love to see a few more races to look forward to! I think the problem is that there are relatively few people who are interested in that sort of racing in Ireland and they are significantly more difficult to run from an organisers viewpoint. I would be fairly sure that Cuchulainn will run the Cooley again this year and hopefully somebody will step forward to run the Marathons.

Having said that, I was looking for a marathon event (not a 6/12/24 hour) to go to in the UK and I couldn't find one apart from the End to End in the Isle of Mann. Can you point me in the direction of one?

no, that just has a load of skeletons waffling on about XC racing..no frogs , no arses and definitely no real life ...muhahahahaha..there are too many races in Ireland..if we go to them all we will be financially demented..I reckon its money better spent hitting Scotland with Smithers, Pollock and Damo for a session and a rip..I can't wait for the Ballyhoura Bluegrass thingamajihg..if this Summer is good nobody will give a **** about racing..Richard you should come to Scotland with us, we will need a grown up !!
