I wanted the news of this to come from here first .
Hi guys for a while now I have been assembling a Team of Giant Riders, supported and promoted by Giant Dublin , which some of you may or may not know I am one of the Directors of. Brian Monahan is my Co Director, he was one of the original members of EPIC and was the Workshop Manager in the CSS for 14 years. When we took over the management of the Store , I mentioned to Giant UK that I would like to form a Team , they were very happy to assist me and after some careful consideration I pulled together a Team based on riders I felt would most benefit the Brand.
I still have two junior slots left to fill and they should be sorted by the weekend.
Most of the Team are EPIC Members but one is from MAD. They will still be representing their Clubs but under the banner of Giant.
So here they are in no particular order
Stephen Pollock
Ray Doyle
Shona D'Arcy
Damian Mulchrone
Oisin Boydell
Daragh Smith
All have podiumed in either XC or Gravity Enduro , all are committed riders and I am looking forward to managing them for the year, I won't be racing the Gravity Enduros except for the Bluegrass ones but I will be racing the XC NPS, etc.
I just wanted the members of EPIC to know what was happening, I am still very much the President of EPIC and this project won't affect the club in any adverse way. I will still be running as many spins as always and I hope in the future to expand some of the Giant projects I have planned.
Good luck Richie et al, great group you've assembled there, looking forward to seeing them flying the flag high and getting a few more of those podiums.

Terry I cheer for everybody as you well know but I will reserve a kick up the hole just for you
Super deadly excited, not just for me to be riding with a team but to able to cheer my team mates on in their respective classes, you have chosen wisely Byrne if I do say so myself ;-)
I'm very excited about it, as I've been involved in the evolution of Irish MTB since its inception, the one thing that I have felt has held us back over the years is our lack of proffessionalism. To the general public we look like a bunch of amateurs just riding our bikes at the weekend and throwing random events together, I think what we need to get recognition from mainstream sports is an aggressive rider and brand based approach. I chose the people I did not just because each of them is a deadly rider but because they are visual, dedicated and great people.
Keep it up Max, anyway you can't talk the bleeding cut of you in your budgie smugglers in France... Poor Terry still has nightmares about it, I'll never forget the lads looking for somewhere to hide in the middle of the sea as you approached hahaha yeh feckin yoke !!!
