Knee and Elbow pads, any one any experience with these?

I've used these for a few months now and am overall happy with them.
'was looking for something "light" enough that I would use it always, but would offer reasonable protection when needed.
'previously tried Fox Launch Pro Knee Pads but we didn't get on - back of the knee rubbing - and I ended up not using them.

Pros:
1. comfy; you don't feel like you're wearing knee pads - you don't get too heated (but haven't had a very hot day to try them) - they don't slip or wander around your knee
2. a good compromise solution if you do a mix of XC/uphill and downhill in one session e.g. 3rock or leadmines
3. more impact protection than other "light" cycling pads - e.g. SixSixOne Rhythm Soft Shell
4. they wash well i.e. can just throw them in the washing machine with the rest of the cycling gear

Cons:
1. they cover the knee only i.e. not shin - if you use the g-form shin pads they don't fit very well together with the knee pads
2. they're not bike-specific - so recommendation seems to be to buy a size up i.e. I measured as XL but bought the 2XL - but try them on if you can first (though as with any other knee pads you/they need to be broken in)
3. relatively expensive if not on sale; they were available for half price during a sale at http://www.g-formuk.com/products/knee-pads.html
4. can't put them on with shoes on - not a major issue given they are light I put them on at the beginning of a ride
Depends what you want to use them for. If it's for Enduro I would go with something heavier with more side protection like 661 make, or Nukeproof... that type anyway.
I sold a lot of them to nervous XC riders..they do not replace proper armour, like Max mentioned..
Im looking for something with good protection, but relatively light to wear all day. I h.ave a 661 pressure suit, but looking for something a good bit lighter. Heading to wales in june and dont want to wear the pressure suit all day.
jesus no..now I never liked armour, too macho.. but I have worn the 661 knee pad jobs and Troy lee knee pad jobs, your best bet is to get in your Taxi and drive to either BeSpoke in Wicklow and ask the Poppington Cruzes about armour or go to the Bike Rack in Cabinteely and talk to Maximus Maxwell about armour..Bespoke stock Fox and Nukeproof and I'd say Al has the same gear in The Bike Rack but at least you will get an expert opinion as both shops are DH masters..do not talk to members of the Goober Nation, they will mislead you, only ever take advice from National Champions or people who have more trophies than you..otherwise you are getting secondhand info from people with magazines !
Thanks for the advice folks :-)
I'll check out the shops and see what I can come up with.
Thanks again everyone.
