Just came accross an atricle that mentioned a new off road pump track located in Bunclody, Co. Wexford. It looks to be an ideal introduction for the little ones to develop a base for their off road cycling skills. If you're down that way this summer be sure to make use of it.
I've actually been there, it's a bit limited but perfect for kids there is also a few concrete type board walk things for practice as well. Not sure it would justify a drive down from Dublin but its okay if you happen to be in the area.

Re the pump track, that was a community initiative involving a local amenities group and some of our own members. It's a deadly little track, aimed squarely at young kids but great craic for older kids too! Had a bit of a job getting buy-in initially but the result is worth the effort.
To cut a long story short, 4 of us got together a few years ago and approached our local amenities group (runs Bunclody Outdoor Swimming Pool) to secure a small area for a kids pump track and skills park. Thanks to that group we were succesful in that respect. We subsequently approached Carlow County Development Partnership with a plan to develop the pump track and managed to secure funding from them.
This all led to the development of the pump track.
It's aimed at kids, and I'm delighted to say it's well used. It flows well and any adult with decent bike skills should be able to pump their way around. The kids love it. There's also a small skills area - beams and step-ups that sort of thing
It's located at Bunclody Amenities area, which is behind the Econ Fuels petrol station, on the way into Bunclody from Carlow, on the right hand side.
