Wow what a few days we've had in Ireland lately, with the sun shining every day it's like every one has fecked off on holidays together and we're all in great form. For me today was the cherry on top of what's been an awesome few days.
We had the first of of our Kids MTB / Strider mega spins today, the idea was simple get a bunch of kids together who love riding their bikes together and let them have the craic. Yes we had a skills course set up and were showing them a few tips but this wasn't some sort of development day or the like it was all FUN FUN FUN.
I wasn't sure what kind of attendance we would get as half the country seams to have gone to the beach but we have 15 junior riders aging from 3 - 8. Thanks to the generosity of Paul & Aine of Track and Trial who not only gave their time but let us have use of their skills area and all of their kit free of charge we spent just over an hour utilizing all of the obstacles we had. Then we headed across the road and used the bottom of the single track near the trail head.
Everyone left with smiles on their faces and saying they would love to do it again so I'm calling today a success. I'd really like to thank all of the parents for traveling down to Ballinastoe today and a massive thanks to all who helped out today and made it happen.
I'm hoping to run another day like this in a different location in about 6 weeks or so. I posted this here rather than the Wolfpack forum so more might see it and come along for our next day out.
