Glendalough: Where did it all go wrong spin?

I was in Glendalough yesterday, attempting to do the horseshoe route but got hopelessly lost trying to get to the boardwalks up to the spink. Where did I go wrong?

Yo Clive! At 6km it looks like you went past the old narrow river climb on your right, not even sure it that is rideable anymore, bit of a hike a bike last time I was there. Had you taken that it would have brought you out at the fire road, then go right and follow that until it leads you to the boardwalks. Great that you are out on the bike, we must hook up for a spin!
