The DMP website is now live
Interesting they have horse riding on the front page under activities but no cycling mountain or otherwise
yeah, I only noticed that afterwards, I'm pretty sure I had seen a mountainbike link when it was in development, but then it disappeared for the release version for some reason
I'll find out some more about it...

I have just emailed them asking them what about the mtb.
I have just had the reply shown below.
"Hi Thomas,
Unfortunately there are no official mountain bike sites on Coillte land in the Dublin Mountains at present. Coillte has three designated mountain biking areas - Ballinastoe, Oughterard and Ballyhouras - check out www.coillteoutdoors.ie. As part of the Dublin Mountains Partnership will be looking at designating areas in the Dublin Mountains and building some sustainable, world class trails over the coming years. It is clearly recognised that we need such facilities in the Dublin Mountains. Discussions are taking place with the Dublin MOuntains Initative and Mountain Bike Ireland at present to progress these plans.
Please keep an eye on the website for updates. I will be putting up a reference to such an effect on the website shortly.
Kind regards, Karen"

If anyone has any questions about the DMP, or wants to get involved please don't hesitate to ask. There has been alot of work done on this, we are without doubt one of the bigger players involved from the recreational users point of view, and have been making alot of progress converting people to our way of thinking. Its going to be a long process, and the state of the government coffers is only going to prolong this process further, but it is underway and looks like it is going to have a happy ending, it just might take a while.
