Do you want to try a ride with a difference? The Leinster orienteering clubs are running MTB-Orienteering competitions on Saturdays in September.
These are aimed both at orienteers and at mountain bikers. The navigation element will be pretty straightforward, with the emphasis on route choice rather than on fine technical navigation.
There will be two courses at each competition. Probable start times are 10 to 11 am
All you need is a bike, helmet and a map board. No membership necessary - the events are open to all. Electronic timing, special maps provided.
The locations are:
Saturday 6th Djouce Woods, Co. Wicklow
Saturday 13th Curragh, Co. Kildare
Saturday 20th Saggart Woods, Co. Dublin (to be confirmed)
Satyrday 27th Three Rock, Co. Dublin
