Bringing a bicycle from US - Epic MTB Forum Archive

Hi guys.

Iâm going to spend some time in Ireland, about 6 months.
My incoming flight has a connection in NY so I would like to buy a bicycle there and take it to Ireland, maybe a SPZ Epic Comp.
The reason is that it is cheaper there than in Ireland.
Do you know if I need to pay taxes when arriving in Dublin or taxes are applicable just to irish residents?

If the bike has been used even once it's yours and shouldn't be liable for tax Also if you're not staying for good it shouldn't be liable. This is going on bringing in guitars a few years back as an irish resident. Also welcome and join us for a spin

As someone who frequents the U.S., I know what you mean, but be careful of asking anyone in Ireland for a "ride" whole new meaning out here....Harri is an accommodating fella though:)
