In Carlingford for the next few days with my better half, for some reason I was granted permission to bring the xc bike, happy days. I'm allowed out tomorrow morning for a spin, want to do 2 or 3 hrs, is there anything I can do without getting lost? Done a race in the forest the far side of the town a few years back, good xc loop, I take it its still there? Done the Cooley Thriller 2 yrs ago but was in race mode so no idea where I was that time!

Only route I know around there is the Cooley Thriller way.. Probably a few bits you could explore by yourself though up by the commons and find your way to the masts...

I'd did a portion of the Cooley easy enough to follow I'll look it up on strava an post it!
I think Oz has the garmin files for the Cooley as well if you have the right garmin!

To start go up the climb to the right of savages butchers in the town turn right at the top in to the wood! Might be a few arrows from the Cooley! Also as you enter the wood there is a laser combat course and zip wire course to the right of that there is a down hill track with loads of jumps to the right of that might be of interest to you!
Also don't forget to call in to PJs for a creamy one and some oysters! Enjoy

Lovely spin in Carlingford yesterday morning before Paddy's day pints, first bit of the thriller to the road, back up to Slieve Foye forest where I found a deadly xc trail, over to the DH track, painful hike to the top and a scary lash down on the xc bike!
They have a great new Greenway(7.5k) on the old railway line, hugging the sea from Carlingford to Omeath, well worth a spin or a walk.
