Madman in Leadmines

like it says a madman was sabotaging one of the trails up there today, he went for me as I cycled past but legged it when he saw John behind me, we spent about a half an hour removing logs from the trail. He was in his 50's shaved grey hair and a mad aggressive look about him, he also had an English springer spaniel with him. The place seemed to be full of arsehole walkers as well for some reason, not even proper walkers, posh 'aul ones with thier sunday best on them.

oh yeah , we know about him, its best if you avoid the place at the weekend, I'm afraid, we had a run in with him as well a couple of times. if he goes for you, let him, then call the guards, thats going to be my plan.

There's another mad one up Glen of the Downs. He has a dog too. This could be an epidemic... And just when the trails were starting to ride well again!

what part of the trail did you see him on Pete ?

What is with all the dog toting loonies? That's why I like Glendo, you meet a much better class of person, theoretically, if only we were allowed to ride there.

It's hard to say cos I havent a clue of the trails up there, I just followed John, not even a well ridden trail, more like a deer track or something, I thought it may have been on private land

ah, I think i know where you're talking about, the problem with the leadmines area is its close to Shankill and places like that and these people imagine they have a complete licence to roam there. What they don't realise is they are usually riding walking on trails we've built. I built most if not all the trails up there since the 80's and its only in the last few years have i seen an increase in the number of ******s walking their dogs their, which amazes me as theirs limited parking and theirs a certain tribe who live locally who prey on cars up there.

Must have been a multi pronged attack by old folk today. Meccanoman was busy getting an earfull from a little one as wide as she was tall on Dream track today. She was spouting Coilte this and that as I passed.
Got a laugh as I heard him politely point out she was on private land. Off she went huffing and puffing.

Its just Sundays near Dublin..we met dozens of very nice walkers up near Crone today, and it used to be notorious for cranky walkers. Mind you for every cranky walker i have met hundreds of sound ones. The cranky ones would be cranky regardless of where they are or what they would be doing. When i get in as benevolent Dictator, i'll have all their names and addresses printed in the Irish Times and charge them what I'll be calling an Arsehole levy..
Every week a teenager with skate shoes and unintelligible speech will call to their house and collect the levy.

There has been some DIPSTICK up 3rock recently blocking trails with trees and large brances, Think its that local nut who lives in ticknock.
I can't believe he really thinks he will stop mountainbikers with his stupid trick's, There is just to many of us to be stopped by one FOOL.

We met some cool walkers in Cloon yesterday, all very friendly and a few were very curious, full of questions...most of the people we met in GOTD on Sat were friendly as well. Like any situation you'll always get a few headwreckers but it's best to smile and ignore...

Went up to Kindelstown on Sunday and the gates were closed. With a Coillte notice "This car park is temporarily closed due to unauthorised activities Coillte TEO"

Must have been all the dogging, or fly tipping, or the dogging fly tippers.

That fooker in the leadmines sounds like the guy who stuck a small penknife tro my front tyre years ago.The cops know about him as he was in trouble throwing stones at horses causing mayhem.
