Has anyone tried the sis recovery shakes? If so do they taste ok? What brand do people generally use?
Recovery shakes
I haven't tried SIS ones I just buy the cheapest shite I can get on discount supplements online.
I don't need them as I rairly cycle for more than an hour but for the mad training you are at they will be a great help.

I have tried it the vanilla one, it's ok. Think chocolate one would better as you could have it warm.
I like Osmo Active Recovery for women, tastes good and no crap in it.

Bikecomponents.de do the Powerbar range at very reasonable prices - Strawberry and Vanilla are both nice! I mix mine with skimmed milk and take it immediately after a 2 hour+ cycle. I find it helps recovery and also fills me and stops me eating the contents of the fridge! I wouldn't usually use the full suggested quantity either!
Remember, as with all German sites, you will be charged for delivery so best to buy a decent quatity per order!

The recoverite strawberry and vanilla ones are tasty enough
Wouldnt touch any of those with a barge pole, sorry. All highly processed stuff and usually the lowest grade of protein powders in them. A high quality organic whey from grass fed happy cows is usually around â¬60 per kg!
There is no reason why you would need any of it though if you eat a balanced diet. A nice homemade smoothie will sort you out post ride and much cheaper too!

Mostly carbs and some good fats in it. Add some good quality protein as required.
3 raw eggs in half a pint of Milk. Shake it up and swig it back....was my staple at school after a tough rugby game or training session #straightouttarocky

Can't know much about recovery shakes, but I find and agree with the guys above that best is to stay in the natural side that gives the right fix to everyone's.
Processed food like bullshit

Hows the knee recovery coming on Oscar
T
T
It only needs patience Terry, went back to hospital for a check yesterday, they have replaced backslab cast for a brace, not allowing knee to bend yet. Ankle and foot healing alright.
They assure me I'll be able to go back to my triathlon program, which is very encouraging.
Having to come back in 6 months time for surgery to remove some wiring from my knee puts a proper come back a bit far in distance though.
In the meantime I tend to do a bit of training to keep cardio levels and upper body in shape. It's called crutching.
