Hi All,

Below is the list of start times for this week. I have only allocated start times to anyone who has done at least one race. Even if you name is not on the list you are welcome to race - contact me beforehand by posting here to get a start time.

It's official, the computer has gone mad!

Ba ha ha ha! Don't give out about it, the computer can hear you, and it will continue to start you later and later, until you look around and the only ones left to start with you are robin and Doris :)

Every time I look at it my time changes .... I'm beginning to think that the robot (or it's leader!!) is basing my start time on anticipated weather conditions!!!

The method I'm using has taken conditions into account but only in so far as your season average lap time differs from the average of the last two races. I'm happier with the way the handicaps are working out but I welcome feedback here on what you think. It is good to get a sense of what people want from the race. Some of the faster lads are focused on racing each other rather than the race overall so they want a slightly later start time in order to get a clearer run on the track. A large group are in it for the win and then there are people who are doing it for other reasons. Let me know what ye think and what ye want (and don't say a better start time!).

Dave you are doing a great job! Fair play to you.

What I really like is starting with a gang of people who lap at around the same pace as I do - there's nothing like 3 laps of the club course passing and being re-passed with all the craic and banter that inevitably follows!

What I hate is starting a minute or two ahead of people who you know are significantly quicker than you are and you then spend the first lap pushing far too hard just to delay the inevitable and then being f**ked for the rest of the race!

Surely if you start ahead of people, its because u are faster than them? Or has the robot turned into a Terminator?

The old age is getting to you Terry ... you start ahead of people because you are slower than them ..... the theory being that you should all arrive at the finish together!

Doh sorry(asleep). But why are u giving out, we all have the same problem. Maybe u should go with Robin and then no one would catch u and u could have the place to yourself.

We'd all get lapped ... that's what!!

The fast guys are racing for between 30 and 34 minutes meaning that they would pass someone doing a 15 minute lap at least twice in the course of a race.
