Leadmines Trails being destroyed :(

Hi folks, new to this site but just said I'd let you know that the many of the Leadmines trails will be no more shortly - they are harvesting the trees and the trails are not protected.

I've grown to learn and really like the trails here over the last year and my two favourite sections are those being wiped out. I know that some of the members on here will be familiar with them and do organised runs there sometimes? I think this club was also involved in building some of the trails?

Its a real shame :(

Does anyone have a link to a map showing what areas of the Leadmines Coillte intend to harvest?

Despite the alarmist tones of post by kingers
Areas marked by red X's on map are being harvested plus some roads being stoned for lorries other wise all other trails open for riding and in great condition with the lack of use

Woo hoo good news Terry ! Hopefully the league can still go ahead next year ?

Irrespective of your views on all this - I was doing my 1 hour and 20 of plenty on the road bike before work this morning and passed the car park and gate to the Leadmines - I just want you all to be very careful of the trucks - I had to get up on the ditch as the trucks are wide and roads narrow - you might want to be on the brakes sooner rather than later -just some friendly advice folks - be careful out there!

So it looks like Section 1 is getting felled for sure.
