Best of luck everyone, I'm on my way up now to shout encouragement/abuse.
Well that was a tough day on the bike. Savage pressure from the start. A slow start saw me back in 6th or 7th and I wasn't fast enough to pull back a place before the single track decent so the leading pack pulled away as I encouraged the lad in front to stop the gap growing. Once I got to the double track and road I put the hammer down and caught up with Emil, Vinnie and Paul D. A savage battle ensued for the rest of the lap. I managed to get ahead of Vinnie on the start finish and kept pushing. Eventually I caught up with and passed the guy in second. I tried hard to push on but he stuck to my wheel and passed me on just about the last place you could pass. I kept after him but made a few mistakes that cost me 20 or 30 seconds. So 3rd place it was. Probably the toughest race I've done. Didn't feel good in the week before the race, didn't feel good during the race and feel pretty ropey now. I think a beer should help :-)
Huge congrats to Caroline Mc and Caroline M on their, respective first and third. Massive effort by Harry saw a very impressive 2nd.
Well done caroline mc, caroline m, erica, harry and dave m on their podiums. Hard course with a substantial climb but you were rewarded with a great descent. Plenty of encouragement from the marshals all around the course. Great day out. Wasnt going to race but glad I did.
Well done everyone who raced, probably one of the toughest courses there is! Fast climbs, rocky roads and rooty descents, everyone was flying and giving it there all so well done again!
Great results, well done the two Carolines and thanks everyone shouting from the sidelines. Loads of epic jerseys up in three rock today. As been said, tough course. In the horrors for most of it. Off the bike since slade, nursing a couple of gooey wounds. Two missed club leagues and the hills today were hardship. In a right heap by the 3rd lap. Had the sensation of going backwards for the whole race. Didn't pass one person all day. 1hr of watching the back of bikes getting steadily further away. Followed by the rustle of gravel of riders catching from behind. Happy to see the finish line in one piece for a change. Looking forward to getting back on the Thursday buzz

Class buzz. 2nd NPS race. 5th in slade, then 4th today. Sure I may as well try Bellurgan in a few weeks and see if I can go higher again. Maybe the banger from Killarney won't travel up to the wee county ! Great racing with Dave n Paul (WORC) all the way around. A slip up top on the last lap took me offa Daves wheel, who rode fantastically well for 3rd. Top stuff dude! I raise a glass of hard Belgian liquor

one of the best courses I think i've ever ridden -the decent from fairy castle down through the trees was just fab
After a period off the bike and a tough week of pints etc i knew it would be hard, but i couldn't skip it
I'm sure I came last but at least I didn't DNF (at least my daughter came 3rd in the U6s).. well done to the winners - the caroline's at the rest

AH I wasn't last ! HA pints and bikes DO mix !!
Really enjoyed that today obviously from getting the win but also it's such a fun course to descend!! I knew from the get go & from the girls I was racing against that I had to push hard for the full two laps. But it's a very strange thing racing & I didn't control the forest descent in the first lap as well as I would have liked at all. I thought I was well ahead though as I did the rock garden and the fairycastle descent really well and didn't see anyone chasing me. Anyway so I got complascent finishing the first lap. Then leah shouted hello or something at me as I came up the fire road past the feeding station and that scared the beejeebus out of me as she was so near. So I started to try to leg it away from her up up up the long climb. Everything went crystal perfect from there and i cudnt have been more pleased with how I handled my bike on that lap. Also A big thanks to whoever it was who said to me after the trench of terror and as I went onto the kings highway to take it " steady and smooth " - ( I cudnt recognise the voice maybe Gary Coyne or Chris Campbell ) as it meant I really concentrated on trying to be 100% smooth all the way. And I was & Yay so I got the win. I needed it and it's deadly to have all the girls now in each race that make you push push push all the way. Well done everyone , caroline , Tara , harry, David , Paul & anyone else in the club who podiums & raced that I didn't say. Ben that puncture really sucked today but The next races will be all urs. MAD put on a great show again too. Woop !
