Club League 2017

Hi All,

Firstly, well done to all who took part in the club league this year. It was, once again, deadly cause of the people who built the new course and those who turned out to race each week and, more specifically, the volunteers who started and timed - without them, there would be no results. As ever, there were some fantastic battles over the season. Most evenings were dry and warm - though one wet evening resulted in the near death of the club laptop. Fear not, Keiran O'Hara came up trumps with a new laptop for the club so we will be good to go in April 2018.

Results of the 2017 league are below. Apologies for the delay in getting these up - the Robot took break for a few months.

Mens:
1st Jon Willets
2nd Philip Tighe
3rd Michael O'Reilly
4th Keith Greenan
5th Paul Caldwell

Womens:
1st Caroline McArdle
2nd Erica Grant
3rd Tara Kerins

Non-Club Men:
1st Oisin Boydell
2nd Gerry McInerney
3rd Craig Molloy

Finally, after two years of running the league I'm going to let someone else take a pull. SO... if you are interested, contact me or one of the committee and let them know.

Just to provide you with a little encouragement the league will be a slightly different / simplified format next year:
1. There will be 14 rounds on the club course and your best 12 results count to the final score.
2. There will be no hill climb or point-to-point race as part of the club league.
3. Handicaps will be updated twice during the season. Of course, if a banger turns up then their individual handicap will be adjusted as needs be. This last change will take a huge amount of work out of the week to week organisation of the league.

I will, of course, be on hand to help or support whoever take it on in any way that I can.

See you all at the AGM.

Dave
I enjoyed getting stuck in to building the new section on the course with all who got involved. Great to see Jon got top spot after doing his fair share on the course and adding a few bits on his own sneaky trails and I think it is fair to say there was few people more motivated than Caroline to push herself, if she gets herself a race bike she will be a force to be reckoned with!
Thanks for all the hardwork Dave and to all who helped out timing and starting.
Ah thanks for the praise Gary , really enjoyed the league this year again and delighted wit my result, roll on 2018! Well done Jon on the win well deserved and ur trail is deadly up there..... wonder cud we connect it to club league course someday. Thanks Dave for the fab organization of the league , what will we do without u next year eek! ?
