Would this be one to do on the CX bike rather than a trail bike?? Doesn't seem like there's much in the way of single track involved

Weather looking a bit crap for this, haven't cancelled it yet though. I see the Ballyhoura challenge is cancelled.
Not a chance this Shimna event will go ahead in the snow...

Wet, wet, wet! Oh, foggy too! Soaked after 10 minutes into a 3 hour spin! No views at all! Apart from that it was good, great course to join up Donard, Tollymore and Castlewellan, loads of tough, steep climbs to drain the energy, would of been super to have the views at the top of the climbs instead of fog, maybe a few too many fireroad decents but there were loads of old lanes and rights of way and a boggy field too! Great marshalls, well marked and a super feed at the end, the weather gods conspired against them but I'd defo do it again. I'm still wet though.
