Well done to the 3 lads, they did a fantastic job representing EPICmtb in the Gorey 3 day, there was only 3 of them and they finished well up individually and as a Team.
Congratulations to them and the Team manager Ross mcClure.

Cheers lads. Another deadly Gorey 3 day - massive field with 180 riders, I think 160 or so finished the whole event.
Highlight for me was the first stage and the time trial. Was happy with my results in both of them.
Stage 3 was a bit grim. I reckon the after effects of giving it socks for the TT earlier that morning was catching up on me. Although I was still looking pretty good in the general classification at that stage
Then all my efforts for the past 2 days went out the window today after 20km or so into stage 4 when I punctured the rear wheel. I was about 3-4 mins at the side of the road by the time I got a replacement wheel (massive amount of support cars out there). So the bunch was long gone by the time I got a replacement. Got back into a scratch group which I hung with for the rest of the race.
Darragh had an excellent finish for stage 4 and manged to get into the final sprint to the line. John rode very well for his first ever stage race. Have to say that I was well impressed with the performance of the 2 lads. Great to have riders of that calibre representing the club. Good on ye lads.

its an awful pity there wasn't the same coverage of the XC NPS given on the XC websites !!
I would encourage all epic sisters & brudders to have a go at this stuff. It's a whole lot more fun than you might think! It was the first time the epic war cry of "MIND THE DANGER!" rang out on the road!! Days of glory.
The lads were brill and we had a really good weekend.
Absolutely brilliant Gorey, really enjoyed it, hope everyone’s legs are recovering now. We all did very well throughout the 3 days, just a pity we all punctured, over the weekend, but great experience and brilliant crack with the lads, think we should have the few pints before every race now. Thanks to Ross for sorting out everything over the weekend. Roll on next year! Or maybe the Corkman 3 day race next month, Ross, John??? Result up now on irishcycling. Pictures are good, was try to scream my way to the front – doesn’t work!
