Hello...what a day, a savage race, seriously schlomptastic, lucky for us who ride our bikes all the time through the winter, it was handy to get through. The climb up the gully was hell, thankfully I could run it, others were not so lucky !
We got several podiums and everybody who rode were legends, from the small ones to the big ones, it was a fantastic day for the club and its members.
And at the end of the day for me, thats what these events are all about, it was absolutely brilliant having supporters there like Skippy,Justin,Sean,Sham, Nessa, Dave Kelly and Roelie cheering us on. I'm sure there were other non combatants out there from Saturdays giving us loads, but when you're in " The Zone" you're hardly going to notice.
its very important to support your club members when they are racing, especially when its only down the road ..
I haven't seen that many EPIC jerseys before in one place..incredible and while I think everybody did fantastic, one man stands out for me for rider of the day and thats Richard Lynch..
He gets some abuse for his little eccentricities but he did us proud today, he had a brilliant race beating several seasoned riders and was only seconds behind his arch nemesis/best friend, Smithers.
Fair play Rich, the abuse won't stop, but you are exactly what EPICs all about !

Robin won the Elites on his trance !! John Doris won the Vets, Sylvia won the Ladies, Alfie got 3rd in Masters, Cian May got 3rd I think in under 8's, Rob Deegan got 3rd in under 14's, Nathan got 2nd in under 8's I think..I get too excited and can't remember !!
But the whole club was extremely well represented and I think everybody had a fantastic race.
And a big hoo haw to Al S for doing so well in his first ever mtb race..

Great craic today, it was a long old slog up those muddy climbs, very glad I stuck with sports, no way I would have finished masters!! Some amount of Epic jerseys out. Well done Adamski, you were flying! Well done to Richard too and everyone, sounds like there were some very good results.
Sounded like a great race, some of the downhillers who raced were in 3rock afterwards and seemed to like it. I was planning on racing but couldn't leave the new bike at home alone.

you are the finest schlompmaster i have ever seen..you were magnificent as you coasted by me in the Schlomparama arena !! I was impressed..your lads and the other kids are an inspiration..i love the whole parents pushing the kids around..

it was a hard 4 laps with my mojo not firing correctly and tape getting caught up in the cassette on the first lap didn't help but the epic jersey and shout outs kept me going until the end.
As usual with Epic at least half the fun is just being with the "Epic Folk"! The craic, after my race, watching everybody else was brilliant - I finally saw Alfie "dabbing" and Luke struggling to muster a smile! Now that Richie has joined Rocky Mountain who's going to be our esteemed leader? And as for Smithers ......... some day .....some day!!!
I'm glad I was not the onlY one who heard RichardL!!!! He was up my chuff the whole race!! Fair play budy you rode a stormer!! I'm proud to be part of this fantastic club the amount of Epic top was deadly don't know most of the peeps wearing them but cheered them on all the same.Great Day!!
