Watching Robin Seymour today was a bit of a revelation! On what looked like a completely standard Giant Trance (just like your's Don) he completely decimated the Elite field - including Niall Davis and Peter Buggle! Rumours of his competitive demise seem to be somewhat exaggerated!!
Robin Seymour - what a legend!
lickarse..if you are going to praise somebody make sure they are in your own club !!
Whos he talkin about!

Yeah dare I say it but Robin really was in a class of his own out there today. And riding around on a trance probably made sense if people were running up the climbs anyway.
Midway around the first lap, in one of the mud run sections, he floated past me about 2-3 inches above the schlomp. An amazingly talented rider/magician...
He defo hasnt gone of the boil lads
Credit where its due an all that...I watch as Ryan lead into the blast course and Robin was two or three down but within seconds he had passed them all to lead and was pulling away rapid..To be fair Ryan you were going great but i think Robin had the edge on the schlooomp and there was lots of schloomp unfortunetly
His tech skills and choice of lines where unreal to watch. The speed he went tru schloomp was just crazy..none or very few dabs in what was unrideable..All our lads are good tech riders because of Richies winter training sessions but this guy was a different level baby.
It was a the right choice of bike on the day because at the speed he was running and bouncing off stuff no way would a carbon hardtail or your body with-stand the pain.

theres nobody as good as Robin on a bike and he is a master of schlomp, and it was definitely a good choice of bike..you were in constant danger of flipping over the bars on that stretch..very feckin frustrating ! there were a few good lines and going over Als humps was way quicker than going around them..I passed loads of Snorkelers going over them, you just had to keep your speed up and hope you didn't go over the bars !! If you can't ride the schlomp , theres no point in being a mountainbiker in Ireland.
The place I got held up the most was the short Daffyds section..which I thought was pretty fcuked up considering its was so dry ! on my first lap there were a sea of riders on it.

ah shucks guys
not sure on the bike though!! in case eveyone starts buying trances....think the colnago might have been a bit easier to ride on the climbs 27lb-vs-21lb
Maxis Medusa 1.9, narrowish so cut through the mud, defo helped, run at about 30 psi.
Had to take my time on the Dafyd descent though as they don't have the punctureproofness of 2.1"

Now , you've done it..I can hear Don revving the Scooter up for a dash to the Bike Rack !!
The last 1.9's I had blew up 3 times on one spin, never again....
Holy creeeeeping jesuuuus 30psi!!!! Don you were right and they all said 20/24psi...This changes everything...
psi is like ***** length, you'll never get an honest answer, when they say 8 inches (20psi) they really mean 4 inches (30psi). It's a complicated formula.
