Given the nature of the Club course and the fact that the races are handicapped it is inevitable that slower riders like myself are going to spend a lot of time in other peoples' way! While I have no interest in being a "slowly moving obstacle" if I have to stop the bike everytime someone wants to pass I'll be on and off like a "w....s knickers"! What's the protocol?
Rider Up? Slower Riders in the Club Races!
well now , if they are savage they'll get by you, if they ask you more than once, then just move over , they won't need much room but if they are matching you, just let them get by you when they can..
The experienced riders will let you know well in advance..
No bad attitude will be tolerated, anybody getting cranky will be banned

also whammy anyone looking to get by especially if they have a big red moustache hahahahaa
I made alot of friends by moving over, when ur starting 1st like I was then u are gonna get passed a few times during the race.
If u hear some1 coming up behind u just have alook ahead for a good spot to pull over while still maintaining forward motion, there are plenty of spots in even the tightest areas. And if some1 tries to go past in a hurry then it's their gamble not yours.
Oh and u have to shout something at them like:
'put some baggies on over them there lycras'
or
'yeah well i have a nicer DH biike than u'
they will prob be out of ear shot by the time u think something up but u will know!!!

whammy whammy whammy
Can Als give us all a demo on safe overtaking
Richard you were in top ten of Epic Riders home in sports,so I dont think you will be heading off that early. Ride your own race, the fast lads will go by,around, over you and a for the rest,as Paulo says look for a spot slow down and let them past.Dont think about it to much or you might not enjoy yourself!!!
My only wisdom here is don't stop on bridges. I saw that go seriously belly up recently.
I am offering a Rocky Mountain Vertex RSL Carbon Custom Edition Frame* for the best overtaking move of the season.

Don't worry about it Richard, the fast guys will make a point of nailing you while on the fireroad sections, usually in fast moving wolf like packs, if they get you on the singlerack just find a tree to lean against and let them all by, don't be too nice though and wreck your own rhythm, remember it's war out there.
Richard feck them...feck them all...Rider up my ass, if you have not got the power to pass or the room, you will have to wait baby coz i wont hear ya "il be in the zone"..this is war for warriors, not golfing for goobers. Its gona be deadly
How to overtake safely, a guide:
1. Speed up when approaching the slow moving obstacle or Luke.
2. Indicate clearly in the direction you wish to go.
3. Gently accelerate, look the obstacle in the eye, smile and overtake.
5. If they speed up to annoy you, as is often the case, use the end of your bars or elbows to gently shove them aside. Sections with oncoming trees or deep ruts are excellent for this purpose.
Don't say "rider up", this only creates apprehension, undue stress and ruins the surprise.
Don't try this on those flimsy carbon yokes or Luke.

You only have to move for riders lapping you, Or if you are walking and somebody is riding up behind you, I would not really move if you are on the same lap as somebody who seems to think they should have a red carpet rolled out for them, Remember this is a race.
I can't believe we are having this discussion..i'm trying to be understanding I really am !!
