Bike Holiday

Recomend me a mountain bike holiday.
Never been and most likely it will be a while before I get again so want to make the best of the opertunity. Looking for something 3-5 days September / October.
Freeride or DH. Well more about the down than the up anyway.
My budget is e600-700 tops

Go to morzine and les gets. It will be class you'll love every inch of the trail even the savage braking bumps.

Take your 6" bike to Switch Backs, not the DH one, the normal one, nearly every year a gang from EPIC head out, we were there last October for a long weekend, amazing trails...

Or if you're bringing the family then Morzine and Les Gets will be better, there's more to do in general, just check the lifts are still running in October...

A friend of mine said that to me too. He brought a V10 but he said next time he'd bring his Reign. This would probably suit a couple of lads travelling alright.
There'll be no family travelling probably just a couple of mates. Treating myself for a significant "ahem" birthday.
Just looking for this kind of feedback to help with the decision making.

Ditto what Colin said, Switchbacks is awesome, dry and never ending. Not DH bike territory as uplifts only go so far. 5-6 inches is plenty.

all the lifts in the alps will be closed at that stage so there won't much going on there.
try switchbacks DH , they do long weekend shutled DH in malaga. I think Gav was there so he could fill you in.
also look at finale in italy( some stuff on eathed 5 from here) I've read some good reviews of it.
also one of the recent issues of dirt has a review of bike barks in germany but again they might be closed by then.

I know its not Europe,Bren..but we had a brilliant 4 days in Scotland last year ..Innerleithen and Glentress were magnificent , and even though it was pissing rain it was still brilliant..
the drink,food and overall craic was great ..we were on short 6" bikes and loved it, we were happy pedalling up stuff, but you can take your time and the climbs won't kill you they are really well done and you don't even know you're climbing.
I'd recommend it highly, I hate all that bike packing airport nonsense..you go on a road trip and the craic is happening from the minute you walk out the door !!
We had as miuch adventure and craziness sitting on the boat as we did on the trail!

the switchbacks dh trip is really good. all of the trails are brilliant. The guides are good craic and know tonnes of local trails and trails a little further than Malaga. The accommodation they arrange in Malaga is pretty good too. Theres an amazing 25 minute descent into the centre of malaga too. I'd go back this year if it wasnt for the masters worlds.

Friend of mine guides in Les Arcs, he's MTBing for years in Ireland so knows the kinda ridin we like (durty stuff)...if your interested I can give you his details and you can take it from there
