Amazing singletrack - really good fun until you got to the neverending fireroads from hell. Had a couple of mechanicals along the way but spectators and other racers were brilliant pushing me on. Thanks a million to all the Epic crew, pretty sure I wouldnt have finished if it wasnt for them.
Savage result... EPIC's first elite podium, as far as I am aware...
It's good to see riders challenge themselves by stepping up to a higher level. beats sandbagging....
It was a hard event to step up on too... a true baptism of fire...
Really liked the course (even the climbs!) - 2 full laps for Sportspeople - Felt like a proper challange - Would have loved a cup of tea and a piece of cake - congrats to all on results - Silvia is a proper "savage" - 4 laps and looked like she could have done a few more at the end!!

ok now that I have your attention..
its great for me and the lads Alfie , O'reilly , Rossco, Gerry etc..we have the craic and we give it loads, we've known each other for years..there are no prima donnas , they would be destroyed by slagging..
we support each other and back each other up..we have a huge amount of familiarity with each other..
But we have a whole load of new members like Ger jackson, Adamski and RichardLs gang..
they are all legend for giving it socks today and at the other races..theres a whole heap of people I'm not going to mention..but I think of everybody when they are racing and I'm always aware of their suffering and their triumphs.and if they DNF they always have a good reason and I still love them !!
but everytime I go to a race, i am more than delighted to see you guys racing and having a laugh..
So fair play for coming along and making these events the craic they are..without us these races would be dull affairs, make no mistake !!! The Organizers appreciate it!
Fair play big time to Silvia today for racing..she comes along and hangs out with the maddest bunch of nutcases in the scene..she is the only person who tells me to " **** off"
and shes usually travelling alone and has to listen to some amount of shoitetalk no lady should ever have to listen to !!
And I have to mention Stuart Galloway from Team-Worc ( I hope I've spelt it correctly ) he was way ahead in the masters race, going really brilliantly and he broke his chain on his last lap.
Hard luck Disco Stu..you were really flying and i'm always impressed by that..

but what about Al Sarhan..when I plucked him from Irish Climbing I never thought he would be so freakin savage, I thought he would get bored and go back to crimping his little socks off on plywood and grubby granite..but he has shown some real class ..

Well done to all, great results, especially Silvia, she was flying. Tough course alright, but the singletrack was sweet, and what a great day for it, I kept getting distracted by that deadly view out to the right at the start of that monster fireroad climb, thats my excuse anyway..
Great day out allright, Started off by having a "bull and cow" with the lady doing sign on, at 11:58am she decided sign on was closed and refused me entry, Thanks to richie "THE NEGOCIATER" I was given a second chance, Blew up on the second lap with still another 2 to go, All the epic crew gave me the strenght to finish, And to top it off, I beat Mac The Knife just at the end, Now top beat that ?. Well done ALL.
