well it looks like the Monsoon Season is upon us again..but all is not lost ..some of us are not put off by the rain and the schlomp..
i was hoping the savage recession summer was coming but hope of that has even evaporated.
As long as you are going to be a Mountainbiker in Ireland you are going to have to accept the Weather..
I had 2 savage days biking this weekend..the trails were good but what made it deadly was the people..no messing and everybody gave it socks. So fair play to everybody riding their bikes offroad regardless of the weather.

I disagree, I have not accepted the weather...I avoid the mud as much a possible. Yeah, when I started it was a laugh, I feckin hate it now. Fireroad for me when its wet......**** country.
I have to say after the disappointment of sunday that my patience is wearing thin too. Is there anything worse than looking forward to a spin, getting psyched, being ready to go the crack of dawn with your mates and then having to go home. Feckin cyclus interuptus. First weekend without biking in ages and I have a big, black cloud over my head, grrrrrr.

Oh yes I went out for a few hours yesterday afternoon and had deadly craic in the lashings of rain. its tough to get motivated when the weather is like that but it so bloody worth it when you do :)
I know what you mean. I was all ready to head out to the Epic Challenge yesterday and was really looking forward to it. Had fixed up the bike, got food and water bottles together, all preparations done. Then woke up and looked out the window - no way. Even the road in front of my house was starting to flood. I've already been soaked on the bike a few times already this week.
I know bitching about the weather in Ireland is lame cause we choose to live here and this is what it like so get used to it but it does make me feel better.

Driving out to Cloon, coming through Enniskerry and I've never seen heavier rain, couldn't see anything in front of the car, and it was like a river coming down the road.
Pulled up at Cloon and it was dry and Sunny until 2!! Deadly buzz

I had even adjusted my tyre pressures for the Challenge!!
Having said all that my most memorable spin ever was a deluge in Glendo where trails turned into flowing rivers, we were up to up knees in water descending, it was incredible.
you only have your self to blame Mr Radiator from Space..you should have been there last week when MAD needed you and as for you WetCacks, what can you do about the weather ? you have no choice but too accept it, though I suppose all the new Rocky Gear gets awful dirty !
apparently 3 Dolphins were seen in Bray Harbour which means its going to be a savage June, July and August ..
I'd say Ballinaohmyeyeswiththegrit is probably the only place in town for most of the slack jawed commie pinkoes out there riding around with their mudguards on and their durt workers !!
I'm giving myself hypnotherapy to convince myself Mud is good and sclomp is deadly..

At the risk of getting the "usual abuse" but I was out in Ballinastoe at lunchtime yesterday and while there was lots of water it was very rideable and for me it has to be more fun than the fireroads!
