Rain clearing on Saturday morning. The rest of Saturday will be mostly dry with sunny breaks and light winds. Sunday will be another dry and bright day with variable cloud and sunny spells. Winds will be light variable or southwest, with afternoon temperatures reaching the high teens. It'll continue very mild or even warm for Monday and Tuesday too.

Glendo will be squishy for a while yet after that rain. Not my mug of Earl Grey I'm afraid. It's deadly in the dry of course, but when we'll see that I have no idea. Happy were the days when we could bate down off Camaderry in the glorious dryness of it all, before crap weather and park rangers had been invented.
Hillwalking, now there's an idea. Would those in the know care to recommend which is better: Sealskinz waterproof socks or fork out for a pair of Goretex-lined boots? Would need to be gaiter-compatible of course. Also, will my Silva 4 compass do, or do I need one with a sighting/resectioning feature? Harveys 1:30,000 map or the new EastWest mapping ones? Do I add or subtract the magnetic variation to get grid north? Red socks or blue? One pole or two? Aaaaghhh-
