I was watching a program on sky a while ago where two female mtbrs were out on there bikes flying along on some wonderfull looking single track, one of the girls was about a hundred yards in front of the other and didn't here the screams of the girl behind as she was taken out by a mountain lion, only for another cyclist coming down behind them some 5mins later she would have been dead.
He spotted the bike and stopped, looked to see if anyone was around and he could see all the grass had been flattened where the mountain lion had dragged the girl into the under growth, the followed the trail for about 50 yrds and there it was with the girl in its mouth, it had it's teeth sunk into her neck and face but she was still alive.
Some how he managed to scare the thing off (think he had one of those distress alarms) and called for help, she survived.
One luck lady, the pictures were horrific.
