Last NPS soon and just wondering if any of the Sports riders are thinking of moving to their respective senior categories? or are you happy as is? looked like some good battles going on in the last NPS....
EPIC Sports Riders
If we continue to get decent races like we did last Sunday I'd be tempted to race in Sports again next year! A championship would be nice too - for me it would be just trying to get a few points every round and aiming for a "top ten" overall. It would make it worthwhile travelling to the more distant rounds.
One of the things I really enjoy about riding Sports is getting my race out of the way and then getting a good vantage point and "encouraging" the rest of the lads in their races - always great craic to be had!

too late now to be changing cats in my opinion. You will have to race your new category in the Nationals then !! and the k Capital Cup and anything else that might appear like the Kooley Killer..
Enjoy the remainder of the races and move up afer a proper Winter training season..
There is still a big big big jump between Sports and Experts,Masters and Vets..

Most importantly.....
Good to hear Richard that you'd like to race again next year. Its always easier/more enjoyable second time round. Even simple things like knowing how to get to places.

Definitley won't be changing up till next year, but will probably do masters next year, assuming I can get fit enough, and try to make it to every round. At least in the age categories there is something to aim for at the end of the series rather than doing sports and it just being a collection of individual races.
I don't have the fittness yet at race pace for 3-4 laps 2 is plenty,But I think next year it will be masters, after a winter of training hard. So I will be doing my last NPS in sports.

Most important thing is to keep getting out on the bike....
the thing to remember lads is this..from September till Christmas..the *******oes ride their freeride machines..
this gives people the chance to come out on their XC racing machines and learn the hardcore skills and up their game.

Mr Mortimer stands out to me as a rider who could move up.... that way he can prepare himself for next season. He's faster than me, yet I can get around. might give some of us slower masters a race too...
Also, and I might be wrong here, but you can race masters in the nps, and change back for the nationals. Doesn't Peter Buggle race Vets at the nationals & other UCI events? yet he rides elites in nps...
The idea behind having no points for sports was so riders had no reason for staying
down...

Hiya,Fat Fecker I think You mean Mr Smith not Mortimor as he is already in Masters,I will be happy to move next year but for now I will enjoy doing the sports, anyway there is only one left. I remember you telling me to move at the end of the last NPS but I don't have the fitness and I wan't some sort of enjoyment when I race, like a nice shinny medal!

It's also great craic which is what EPIC is all about!
You're right Daragh... wrong Surname. Feck the medal... last race, so see if you can do it. Leave the medals for the next wave of Sports.... Richard L etc. let them battle at the front, and you can battle in the age cats....
theres nothing to stop people moving from Elites to Masters ( inc Vets ) at UCI events including National Champs..but they would prefer to stay in Elites..leave the sports riders alone till the end of the season. You cannot ride in the World masters if you have an Elite Licence..but theres nothing to stop you riding Elites in an NPS.
We are trying to encourage people here to come back next year..anybody in the top 5 Sports will get pounded to death in the Age cats at the moment..let them enjoy their brief moment in the Sun..what you are forgetting is the sheer strength of the Age Cat riders..

Yeah, fair enough. Makes sense.....
It's cool that we have some sports riders knocking on the door of the Age cats...
and now we have age cats battling for podiums.
well done EPIC...
