Brake Trouble !

Just looking for a little advice from ye experts. Accidentally lost a little brake fluid on Saturday!! As it turned out it was a good thing... coz who would have guessed im a lot faster without brakes :)
Anyway pumped the lever lots but the pressure wont build back up so the question is....

A. Will the brake have to be bled? Or
B. Will it be enough to just top up the reservoir?

If A is the answer that is beyond my skill set and I wont do that without strict supervision….how much will that cost me to get someone to do it.

If it just needs a top up can I buy fluid without buying the whole kit? And how much? The reservoir says the brake fluid is Dot 5.1 or 4 does it matter what is already in it or can these mix?

Oh and lastly if there was a good website for this out there that can be recommended that would be great!

Give it a go yourself first. If you make a b*ll*x of it then bring it to the shop.

Oh yeah they are Avid Juicy's 3's.
Ah sure i guess if i dont give it ago ill never learn .... cheers for the vid makes it a bit easier!

You can try top up the resevoir but if they are Juicy's then you should really get the proper bleed kit for them.. otherwise you'll be there all day trying to do a bodge job on them.. you'll get oil everywhere and you'll probably (more than likely) end up worse than you actually started..

If you have the proper kit then Juicy's are p!ss easy to bleed if you follow the instructions.. it takes about 10-15 mins per lever.. and will be good as new after..
