Having recently spent 2 weeks with Niall & Tarja of All mountain experience in Lake Garda Italy, I thought Iâd write a little about it here to describe to all my Epic friends a bit about the place and the biking there.
I must say firstly â this holiday is a must, the mountains are huge, the climbs are high, hard & long, but youâll love every minute as you just know the descents are going to be unreal, blindingly quick & seemingly impossible. Youâll be elated with the sense of achievement with every climb successfully negotiated and every descent hammered.
Iâm a fairly average rider but I got so much out of the trip, lung busing climbs that lasted up to 4 hours with Niall & Tarja & I had the privilege (or curse?) on my first day out of riding with Neil the Australian coach and Tara a Canadian mtb team member. So, as you can imagine- pressure to perform was on. I didnât think Iâd last 6.5 hours on a cycle but I did, & I repeated this many times over the 2 weeks. The riding was unreal, the food great, teh views spectacular (I was took tons of photos) & with all the cycling you can eat all round you! Itâs also great to have Irish people guiding you professionally, giving you tips & really encouraging your riding, I even managed a wall-ride at one point- something I wouldnât have dreamt of a few months back.
They cater for all grades of rider & of course many of my club mates are better than me by miles & they have the trials for you too! I did one trail that the dirt mag lads did when they did a review of lake Garda- make sure you do this if you go you wont be disappointed. . .
Youâll have a holiday youâll never, ever forget & bring the family I did thereâs loads for all to do, swimming, wakeboarding, sailing, etc.
Next thing is. . .I hope it helps with my next Club League race. . . !!!
