it would probably be easier to list the people who did nothing than list all those that did..
obviously some people did more than others
especially Richard lynch, who never missed a digging day..its weird having somebody the same age as myelf as passionate about it as I am.
Fergal Kilkenny, probably a greater contribution to irish mountainbiking than even tubelss tyres.
Skippy and Vinnie, its like having our own corps of Engineers !!
the Podium that Roo made brings tear to my jaded eyes..magnificent.
thanks also to Alfie and BON..there would likely be bodies buried in Djouce without them keeping me under control.
Carol and Sophie for putting up with the constant absences and the phone calls and me shouting in my sleep !

I designed the loop today, I knew it would be hard, i knew people would suffer on it, i knew the lap would be a long one.
But it was the last one of the season and I wanted people to get a real test.
Other people run races in Quarries and around parks, that ok, some people like that. I don't, I like the " Mountain" in Mountainbiking. In EPIC we ride in savage wild places, insane weather and we like to push till it hurts.
Everybody who competed today is a legend. Its Ireland, its rough, the weather is desperate, theres roots and rocks and the risk to life,limb and bike is great.
I'm not sorry if there are people who didn't like it. You can't please everybody, it was a hard mans course, i make no apologies for that.

I can't believe the Al Sarhan lad is going off to open a gay bar in Bristol !

In fairness the family have been away for the last two weeks so I've been "Home Alone", I've given up the pub mid-week and there's f..k all on the telly at the moment!
Also reckon it was important that we put on a "good show" - I suspect there might be a few begrudgers who would like to see Epic have a "bad day"!
The track was fantastic and the set-up in the Start/Finish area was brilliant! A big "Pat on the Back" to us all!!
Carol will probably be glad to have Richie home a bit more ...... or maybe not!!

i'd just also like to thank Gareth mckee for his help at the end of the event, plus the Egan brothers Dave and Niall..

theres always begrudgers Rich and people who would love to see me fcuk up..but I was here before them and I'll still be here long after they've gone back to formation stomach pulling and queer Chess..

Well done epic, And big thanks to Richie and all the helpers for the devotion to getting the job done, The event was a big success. The coarse was excellent but for the weather which made it a real hardmans coarse, Kind of like the Tour De France on mountain bikes, hey Richie ?

what ? riding around The George on Mountainbikes without saddles..not for me thanks ...........

So no poppers on the start line of the Blast for everyone?
