Hardtail or Full Sus.

As you all may or may not know Myself and RichardL are doing the Roc D'zur MTB race in France later on this year which is 40 something km on Friday and 50 something km on Sunday. As far as I know RichardL is doing it on his Stumpy S-works.
Here is where I can't make up my mind. I have a hard tail which I have raced all season but on shorter laps and love it. I am buying a new bike,do I buy a new HT for the Roc or a full sus. ie Specialized epic expert, rocky mountain vertex 50 or feck it and buy a Stumpy elite and have a bike for everything and do the Roc on the HT I already have.:confused::confused:
Please keep in mind the Roc is not that technical but there are some savage climbs!!!

Roll on the abuse!!!!!
Do it on your epic and buy a 6" bike and stopped skirting around the issue. You know you want to.
i do not believe in XC full sussers..they are only for people who like being pounded gently in the ass ..
buy a 6" bike and come to Morzine with me next year !! yes folks save your pennies..I will be organizing a 2 week EPIC trip to Morzine next year ( Sophies orders)
I have traded in my epic and only have the HT left!!! But point taken thats 1 for Full sus free ride bike.
Thanks Sham!!!
Get a six incher for the winter for fecks sake!! Your hardtail will do you for the Roc. Everyone needs a big bouncey bike!
affirmitive baby
6 inch bike is a huge amount of fun, especially for the winter, you'll get through anything on one, you'll look at it in your shed and say
"I love you, you big hefty bitch" and it'll be big bouncy love until spring rolls round again, and you're already hardened-the-feck-up to be able to pedal the extra weight
Keep your hardtail for training/hacking, an XC full sus for racing (Epics are perfect but I'm not impartial on this one) and get a big bouncy bike for the winter and having fun on.

That actually describes my mountain bikes...

I still have a 07 S-Works Epic frame in Large for sale... €750. One previous owner (current XC world champion)

I love full sus bikes for racing on, although I also do a good few marathons and this really when they pay off.
Get a big bouncy bike for the winter and really scaring yourself when you go to glendo and places like that. Keep the hardtail for racing and don't bother with the xc full sus.
Get a Trance, 5 inches of all day, do anything shexiness. Climbs like goat, descends like goat on acid.
