Right well this weekend we have the 6th Dh NPS and it's on in a new venue in Cullohill which is just over an hour away from Dublin so get off your asses and come on down. I havenât seen the course yet myself but from what I've heard it should be short and fun. I know the lads have put in a big effort to make it possible to have a race venue here so we should all go down and support them. Usual story practice Saturday/Sunday morning racing Sunday afternoon. Epic should have the big pit area setup again so if youâre around come on over it's there for everyone. Here's a review of what to expect. See you all at the weekend.
Well just a quick review of a great weekend of biking for ya. I arrived down on at the track on Saturday morning not know what to expect from the weekend. After getting setup we went for a walk of the track and I was blow away by the work the lads had done to make a cracking track with tight twisty turns to flat out open sections with jumps and berms the likes you'd get in France. After walking it I was buzzed up to get riding the bike. The weather held off for the practice so it made for a great days riding. One thing I was major impressed with was the effort the lads put in to make sure things ran well, with some issue with the up lifts that would put most clubs out of the game it didn't faze them as they had a tracked digging on site within a half hour to dig out the fire road. Uplifts ran until 6.30 on Saturday to make sure everyone got all the practice they needed. Getting up on Sunday morning the rain had fell and made things tricky for the first few runs with the spikes/ high roller debate flying around the camp. Come race time the track was starting to dry out and by second runs it was riding as good as you get. The times were in the 1.39+ region but they were tuff race runs with most people suffering when crossing the line. Results wise Ed smith won sensors and I got 4th, Greg staying on form got the win the juniors Iâm sure there is more but that's all I can remember for now. I have to say again well done to the cullohill gang for putting on a great weekend with a serious amount of work and effort put in to make it so. If you weren't there you missed a fantastic weekend of biking.
Savage weekend, was a bit pessemistic afther riding the track in the wet but when it dried it was really nice to ride, greg cleaned up in juniors afther flatting in the first run , alan was fighting with his pedals and gav d continued his streak of awesome crashes basically falling off an 8 foot drop but of course he hopped back up with only minor boo boos when some of us would have been off to a trip to portloaise hospital, and i finished 5th for the 5th time this year just keepin it annoyingly consistent, roll on rossi.

It's a lovely hospital, the nurses are all very nice! 5 hours in the place having the same 2 minute conversation because a lad doesn't remember what's going on is great craic! :)

Savage weekends racing, the track was class and the lads did an unreal amount of work for it, fair play. Them doubles are savage with a puncture, the berms after it are fairly loose with the tyre flapping around the kip!
Plenty of Epic heads around but not sure how everyone got on.
Well Gav you can try get 5th for the 6th time in a row in Wales, 5th in a Brittish round wouldn't be half bad!
I have to agree with everyone else on this that it was amazing. I haven't enjoyed a race so much for about 2 years. Even my result didn't bother because all of the other riding was soo good. You may find it hard to believe but there 4 people in Cullohill DH and that it. All the locals loved the idea of the race and got involved. Their friends went up and helped dig/marshall when they have no interest in biking at all except to see the crazy downhillers. It was amazing to see that kind of spectator turnout.

Gavogavin is getting consistant 5ths and I'm getting consistant in surviving ridiculous crashes must be something in that..
