You never get stung heading out of dublin as they never weigh oversize sports equipement no matter who ur flying with on the way back it really depends on the airport
Not sure about Ryanairs policy, couldn't find it myse3lf when I was looking. Have flown with them before and not had a problem. However, if the item is over 32kg, the health and safty kicks in and the airport won't let it through check in. I have seen alot of people caught with this. Its a bollix as its not a case of paying excess, its a case of running off and buying another bag and moving **** around until the bag is under 32kg.
ryanair will charge a standard fee for items like a bike .last time i flew i think it was â¬15.in some airports they want to weigh bike bag at check in ,the trick here is to put the bag on the scalewith one end hanging off at least the length of your foot with foot underneath taking the weight and lower it until the scale gives the weight you want,ie less than 32kg.nevermind the bollox about letting air out of tyres and bleeding brakes just say you did.its definetely worthwhile taking discs off wheelsas baggage handlers will sling it around the place
