I rode 2 of the tamest trails on the North Shore, Severed **** and Pipeline as part of the BC Bike Race, they were savage, really really good, very Irish (if you know what I mean) loads of rock features, muck and roots, tight and twisty, great fun, especially with 150 stick men walking their 29r's down the side.
Didn't get near the real stuff, I'd have killed myself
I also walked around some proper "freeride" stuff in Nelson BC, stuff that's straight out of the Kranked videos and Drop in TV, amazing to look at, I'd say I'd be able for less than half of it, if you lived over there you would be a freerider, it actually makes sense over there.
Pipeline is feckin awesome - had the problem there of giong up a skinny only to hear a sea-saw go as the guy infront of me cycled off it. I then had to wait about 3 foot up on a 6 inch skinny for it to settle again. Only made that mistake once!
