who's going ? I'm not, obviously, i'm working on increasing my wattage and my HR anaerobic threshold for the coming cyclosnore season..nobody else is hyping it up..so I thought I'd better..
Yeah cheers Richie I meant to put a thing up about this weekend. I'll be there from Friday night on. Everyone should head up to Rostrevor it's a top venue. The track is the other one to the last NPS, it's the 2008 NPS track fast and fun some off camber not as hardcore as the other track but still a plenty on it to keep you on your toes but rideable for everyone so come on up. You'll see the epic tents so as Sean said come on over if you’re around. By the way if anyone has a bike stand can they bring it up with them for the weekend and I'm missing a few camping chairs so if anyone has them bring them along. See you all there.
I'll be there from Sat morning onwards, giving the Friday a miss because of a meeting. Going to be deadly (the weekend, not the meeting).
If Mr Tiernan is going perhaps he could bring my hammer that he has from the last time up there? :-)
I was up there on Saturday and the track is amazing! So much faser than last year, it's going straight down the chute after the drop into rock jump yoke, and it's scary fast! Then you jump straight across the next fireroad instead of riding down it and turning off and there's a new end section that's really flowy and jumpy, tricky enough to get quick so should get people thinking. I think this track is alot better than the champs track (It actually has some flow and oesn't kill you if you sneeze) so make sure you get up, it'll be a good race with the weather we're having, the venue and the savage track!
Yes the track looks really good, I was up there last Saturday, its a fun track and would be good track for beginners as it's no where near as intense / tricky / dangerous as the other Rostrevor track this year. This track is much more flowy and relaxed plus there's almost zero peddling (besides the last little jumpy bit) so will be more enjoyable for unfit people like me.
If it is going straight from the top down the shute that will be very very fast start!
Well what a weekend, just back now and still buzzing from it. Regardless how people did I think everyone (bar the few casualties) had one of the best weekends riding this season. The weather was very kind and the track was amazing fully rideable by all but to get the quick times you needed to be on the edge it was so fast and rough and dusty but fun to ride not a typical Irish track by any means. As always the CRC lads did a top notch job with the running of things. As for the results epic dominated the podium in the seniors with me finishing 3rd and Ed finishing 2nd, Mark T put in a great time in masters and was sitting 2nd after the first run but unfortunately got knocked off it in the second runs, Greg put in a incredible time again, one that would have put him in the top few in elites, and he took the win in Juniors and Orla got a great result of 3rd in ladies. There could be more but that’s all I remember for now. As always we had a great turn out from all the epic downhills giving a good epic presents in the downhill scene. Well done to all that came up and for anyone who didn't you missed out on an amazing weekend.
What a weekend, I won't get into the details because I could go on for hours about how good it was! What a track! The Epic pits were deadly as usual and good to see everyone getting good results, everyone seemed happy with themselves! Whos Oral Adam? She must be good. Can't wait for whitehorse now...this gap should be interesting!
Nice one Greg double nps and national champs u were lit today. Deadly days racing, epic and honorary epicurians were all over the top 10 in seniors. Adam and Ed were flying (ed sporting a new prototype jersey check the photos for spy shots.) Niall Egan in 5th Rory Bierne in 6th and Myself in 7th. The pace in all the categories was flat out, track was amazing wish i could have had some practise on Sat but got a good few runs in this morning as the uplifts were flyin all day, little or no qeueing.
deadly race day lads & lassies. even though it hurts more than a shoulder ever could to watch everyone race on a DUSTY trail I had a deadly day with the cowbells and all
great to see everyone giving it socks!!! So many epic jerseys flying around! Savage!
