Trails near Nenagh

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are any trails near Nenagh, Tipp - looking for dirt jumps, xc, dh - basically everything! Or anyone from down that direction - need insider knowledge!

Was looking for something besides Ballyhoura. Even interested in areas that could potential build trails.

Its about 20 minutes from Killaloe, it has a old DH track and plenty of xc stuff.

Not to mention the infamous "Blue Bin of Despair" climb.

Pretty sure I heard some folk say Keeper Hill (near Silvermines) is worth a spin.

Hi Orla,

Yeah, I'm living in Killaloe, we have some great stuff in the woods here, but it's being felled at the minute, so its a no-go monday to friday according to the sign up at the forest enterance. I think it's ok at the weekends though. Not sure what state the DH track is in, but get in touch if you're about and I'll try and get up for a look - show you were it is and stuff.

There's another trail that's shuttleable, sometimes under a bog, but the sun's been out for 3 weeks so it might be good. Ends up on a bit of a fireroad, but it's all downhill - just outside of killaloe too.

Keeper is a bit of xc - an hour climb, 20 minutes descent, some nice babyhead rocky stuff at the top, then really really (ie - ambulance will be required if you bin yourself) fast fireroad descending.

Like I said, get in touch if you want to give them a shot.
