Right. Enough is enough. And we have passed that point long ago. The proliferation of the word "goober" in this club and on this site has got to stupid levels. It's now just bloody irritating. God be with the days when we had clipes and gantoos and just plain morons. I've had people ask me what the word goober means. Its actual meaning and purpose seems to have got lost along the way in people's collective efforts to glorify a buzzword. It's right up there with ****ing awful Ross O'Carroll Kelly wannbe kids using "sick" to mean cool or deadly. Enough I say.
I therefore propose that next week be Goober-free Week. In other words, the use of the word goober is banned. Anyone caught using it should, accordingly, be banned. From the forum, from spins.
And if anyone calls me a goober for saying this, I will have a Basil Fawlty moment.

You're not a goober by the way..but Goober is just a great word and eventually it will end up in the Collins English Dictionary..
The greatest mistake we ever made was letting the Goobers know about the word ‘Goober’. Now it’s fashionable to be a Goober, in fact the term has become gooberish itself, its gotten to a stage where calling someone a ‘goober’, probably means you are one. We have ‘goobers’ labelling other ‘goobers’ as ‘bigger goobers’. Now anyone who isn’t as cool as you is a ‘goober’, which was never the intent. It was only ever supposed to distinguish the initiated from the uninitiated. So if you are going around calling people ‘Goobers’? Well your not a ‘goober’, you’re a ‘____ ’, I would tell you what ‘_____’ is but then it would get gooberised and we would be back to square one all over again.
If you are one of the initiated whatever you do don’t tell Byrner about ‘_____’, he’s the feckin ‘_____’ that gooberised ‘goober’ in the first place.
It took me half an hour to translate Anals post to plain English. My brain hurts.
The reason we call so many people goober is because the club is full of them. we welcome them, and turn them into fine mtb riders. Take last years goober king, and this years... RL...Dave K. Other clubs would have shunned them, but we turned them around.
