Put the bike upside down, take off your bottom bracket and pour peanut butter down the seat tube. If that doesn't free it at least you have a ready supply of peanut butter for your sarnies mid spin.
once upon a time I was at a party with many famous irish mountainbikers and one lad thought he was real cool coming to the party on his brand new MTB..
some cnunt..took his seatpostout and carefuly poured mayonaise and tuna down the seat tube, then put the seat post back in..that was in pre adjustable seat collar days..
anyway a few weeks later he was demented on spins and in his house ( he kept the bike in his sitting room) by this stench that kept following him around..
Thanks Luke, will try those suggestions. Tried WD40 from above - no use. Was tempted to try THF (works well on seized Quickfit ground glass joints) but paintwork wouldn't thank me.
Byrner, what sort of person would do such a thing?!! Evil I tellsya.
Don - peanut butter, how utterly revolting.
Richard, just because people ride cross bikes with the name Alan on them doesn't mean it's me. I can sink pretty low betimes, but I haven't sunk that low yet.
Take the wheels and half the crap off the bike, clamp the seatpost in a vice and swing out of the frame like a lunatic, you'll wreck the seatpost but they're easily replaced.
OR....
As a last last resort...
Cut the seatpost 20 - 30mm above the seat collar, get a hacksaw blade, wrap a rag around one end of it, hold same end, stick blade down into remaining bit of seatpost, make a series of almost all the way through cuts, clamp something around the bit that's left and collapse the seat post..... bingo bongo
A reciprocating saw would be fantastic for this job.... yeah I said RECIPROCATING....
OR.....
