Hi all looking for a bit of advice on kids bikes,looking for recommendations for hardtail for 11 yr old girl who is well able to ride a bike ,wants a full on mountain bike for christmas preferably with disc brakes,i know ye have a kids club there so any info greatly appreciated.

My nine year old boy has one of these,

but is starting to ride a 26" bike. I built it up from a 4x frame because they are normally only 14".
Eoin has a lovely Kona Kula deluxe 14" but I'd say it was expensive.

Main consideration is weight. kids have less strength and suffer when trying to lug a beast up hills. so ignore full suss, and steel frames etc.

Thanks for those suggestions ,like the look of the giant bikes dunno if santa will stretch to the more expensive one though in the current economic climate.
You might be better off looking at a S or XS adult MTB. My 12 year old has a 14" adult MTB and it works well. The kids MTB bikes are too heavy unless you pay mad money and you get much better value in the adult ranges.
