Video editing

Hey

Does anyone know of a real good bit of video editing software, something that could produce a really good finished video, has lots of sound options and effects (not silly retro 80's ones) and relatively easy to use??

Have lots of really good footage that deserves the effort...

Oh and its got to be cheap, or well, i can get it cheap
