Help needed: Online Event Registration utility

Howdy all,
The Offroad Commission need your help in testing our new online event registration utility.
We are looking to use this system in 2010 for as many offroad events (NPS, Nationals etc) as appropriate, the system can be used for registering XC, CX, 4X, DH etc...
Test forms have been created for all 4 disciplines so you may register for as many as you like.
The system is ready for testing now and will be taking test registrations for the next week or two.

Below is the link to the main form from which you can pick your event to register for:

The event forms request basic info, like Name, Email, Licence number (if you have one), Category, Event from the user.
You will receive a confirmation email to your inbox from offroadevent.reg@gmail.com when you have registered for an event.

If you notice any errors or have any suggestions please email offroad.commission@gmail.com.

We'll let you know how the testing goes, we expect there should not be any major issues with the system,
but we would like a signifiant amount of users to create a few registrations to ensure all goes smoothly.

It only takes about 30 seconds to register for an event, if you can register for more than 1 discipline or event then
that would help even more.

hmmm, wasn't long before the hackers started taking their shots:

A possible concern for race organisers, is people registering and not turning up

Last year on the XC front, this was only a very small issue, not sure why this would be a bigger issue in DH events than XC...?

Initially, there's not much you can do to prevent this, but there is the facility to email the offenders and advise them the problem it causes to race organisers etc...

I think eventually, riders will see get very used to pre-registering for events (they'll hopefully come to accept it as natural as putting your bike in the car before going to the race!) and any initial issues will work themselves out.

This system is definitely going to be used for 2010 XC events, the offroad commission will be talking with DH event hosting clubs to see if it's something they want for the 2010 DH events.

If it is accepted then there's very little for the race organiser to do - the plan is that online registration closes on Friday at 6:00pm, and that same evening they will get a list of all the registered riders emailed to them.

They will also receive an Excel file containing the sign-on sheets for all categories pre-populated with all the online registration details.

Online payment is an option too - but the details are still being worked out on this aspect of online registration.

you shouldn't be paying any atention to arseholes on cyclocross ireland with their petty sniping..they don't go to the races.
Fair play to you and everybody else involved in dragging XC out of the uptight, miserable self serving ,backstabbing quagmire it enjoyed, at least now its revolving around a community ,rather than one individual,

Entry form worked OK for me, confirmation email got sent to my junk mail folder though, not sure if that can be helped.

you'll need to change your email client setting Rob to avoid the received mail being flagged as junk - what email client do you use?
