Last night I went to change a gear cable, the red mist descended and 24 hours later new chainset, BB, pedals, rear mech, cables, DU bush, brake fluid, grips, straighten mech hanger, true rear wheel, sort out lockout problems.
know the feeling 2 visits to a&e in a week don't come cheap either. Just thinking of all the shiny stuff i could have got for my new bike with the cash.
How do you people go through so many parts? In the last year i haven't had a pucture, i haven't broken a cable, i haven't snapped a hanger, infact i haven't had a single mechanical, the only trouble i've had is from some dodgy second hand kit but even that hasn't failed me on the trail.
Gary - I thought you had trouble with the rear shock?
& You've changed bikes? ha ha.
I've gone through 2 mech hangers, 5 rear derailleur cables, I (now) have two working derailleurs for 1 bike. I've bent a wheel, torn off grips, gone through 3 sets of brake pads, I could go on. . . (or maybe not)
Never mind expensive 24 hours Don, the whole of 2009 has been ****ing expensive, I'm afraid to work out how much I've spent on bikes, bike bits, bike clothing this year!!! Probably could have shortened my mortgage by a year on what I've spent on bikes!!!
