DH winter league

Well the off season is quickly coming to an end this weekend with the first round the Irish winter league taking place down in Bree Co. Wexford. For those of you that don’t know Bree it was used as an NPS a few years back and is a cracking track, there are a few tracks down there so I don’t know which one they are using but it’s bound to be great. As usual the winter league is a great place to have a try at downhill racing very chilled out and this year the events are a 2 day affair so you’ll get lots of riding in. So everyone come on down and have a go, Remember there is online sign on for this so use it. I’ll see you there at the weekend. I hope all you xc heads who said you'd give it a go will be down there. there's no better time to start DH racing than the winter league. Judging from the two races in cloon we had there are plenty of you well able so man up and give it a go, worst that could happen is you could die! I expect Lugash and Alfie to be down on Sunday anyway!

im no good ,can one skip all the big jumps etc.?

you will never get any better with that attitude..nobody starts off deadly and nobody really thinks they are that bad..
cop on to yourself and just do your best !! ask sensible questions and watch the right people and you won't go wrong!
Don't start sentences with " i'm no good" !!

I'm feckin deadly... and I can do all the big jumps, but if I decided not to, there is normally a "chicken run" right beside them. Not that I need them.....

sorry ,let me rephrase :), im a beginner would you recommend going down even though i havent had much experience(the odd 3rock run)?

well i just registered,cant cycle for more than 5mins with my banjaxed knee so i'm gonna do this instead,i think we should all head down for the road trip the trails are gonna be in s*ite up here anyway after the big thaw

There arn't really any big jumps. One north short drop, that you can just ride past, other than that they are all tabletops which you can just roll over.

So sign up and have a go ! I'll be hardtailing it anyway !!!

no shes dismantled!! I may not get her up and running by Sunday!

With the new bling EPIC DH jerseys everyone should come cown to Bree for the first round of the DH series and make there presence felt, trust me when you get the bug you cant shake it. the track is well known as a fun track and nothing compared to the savage DH stuff that the Byrner fella takes you down on youre XC spin, and as its the first round the place will be packed and big numbers are expected.

I'm heading down on saturday for the day then back to dublin that evening if anyone wants a lift. i'll be leaving dublin at 9am.

Al in the bike rack has jersey's availible in your size so get in touch with him.
