Im gona get into mtb,i will be using it for trails and goin round the town,Im 6ft, 14 st.my question is do i need full suspension or will i just get a hard tail and what size frame should i go for,im gona try and get the mtb secound hand.i dont wana pay more than 500 quid for it.i was looking at the scott aspect on ebay is this bike any good,so could ya's shed some light on this.tanx!!

For €500 I'd reccommend a hardtail. a full suss at that price would be sh1te.
at 6ft, you hover between med & large (17-19in) depending on brand. you won't know till you sit on it. Put up a link to the bike you are looking at, and we'll give an opinion.
Key things to look for would be hydraulic disc brakes, brand name forks etc.

No you do not need a full susser. Yet.
Yes that is a decent enough 'Entry' Level Bike.
But go to your decent local bike shop and develop some sort of relationship with them. Buying and maintaining a Mountainbike is a labour of love. You will be throwing money at it .
The amount of choices you have will be dazzling.
But to get into Mountainbiking all you need is something with a decent Cartridge Bottom Bracket, Disc Brakes,decent well laced wheels and decent mid range drive Shimano Deore or whatever the equivilent SRAM is.
Forks , well they are all **** at that level after a few goes.
Get fit Join a Club and remember simple is best.
Get in the door with the decent starter Bike, go on a couple of Beginner spins.
Dress correctly and ask sensible questions.
Oh yeah..buy a decent book on how to do simple repairs.
Mountainbiking is top heavy with Technophiles.
Work up to that sort of insanity..
You don't need to worry about tyres, flats or spds, tubeless or non, sram or shimano.
XC or Dh..
But you will need a helmet, full finger gloves, padded shorts and a kit list including a decent pump, 2 tubes a multi tool with a chainbreaker and the ability to use them.

Ive got an 09 Giant xtc4 for sale.
