When does it start? My preparations are all over the place and I need to focus!
Club league, when?
Jeasus Don, you are well ahead of the game!!! It started the 2nd or 3rd thursday in April last year, then 20 weeks of flat out hardship and craic!!!
20 weeks! I spent the first 4 weeks waiting for my first real mountain bike. like a kid at chistmas, Ah happy days indeed! Then loads of racing . . . Palmers, in the sun . . . not needing to wash the bike after a race . . . ah yes. . . memories!
'rider-up!' I used to hear every few mintues - this year I'll be the one saying it (I hope!)
I remember GavD givning me his 20Kg Enduro for one race - I puked my guts up after 2 laps and couldn't manage a third! What a laugh! Then Fergal gave me his race-whippet for the next! I didn't know where I was - fun times. & the time Richard L had to run a lap with the bike in tow! I nearly split my sides (he still finished in front of me????)
Gotta be one of the best things you'll ever do in your life!

We kick off around April the 20somethingth..as usual..but the week before we'll be doing our own Kilmashogue Hillclimb.
I have to think about it.
New section will be finished.
We're going to have the hottest Summer in 50 years !!

With you on that one Richard.... ah the memories of the club league 2009.
I could only manage two laps on my first attempt, then it took about another two weeks before I knew where I was going on the course. It will be interesting to see the handicaps this year !!

Brilliant - I remeber shouting at people 'WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER???' & they'd look at me in a deoxygenated haze - & whisper something.
Remember all the folks who were shouting out other peoples numbers!!! What was that all about, one day a fellar did a 1'30'' lap - we knew someting odd was happening then!

My trick of shouting my number half way up the climb rarely worked, I'll have to come up with new tricks this year.
I fear Myself and RL wont be fighting for the title this year, But I think Harri is goin to do well in the league. I was rearly caught* last year by the steam train of Alfie,Damo,Luke and the rest but I think that is going to be the norm this year!!! My aim will be to catch RL and try and stay in front of some people who wont be mentioned !!!!
