Burn time on the Chinky light

What type of burn time are people getting on thier dealextreme chinky lights ?. Tonight I got less than 1 hr45 and I get no warning that its about to go, it just cuts out. Anybody had similar experiences ?

Fergal had to go home s well because his lights failed !! However...both my repaired Nuke Proofs and my Hopes worked faultlessly!

I get over 3 hours on my one. That said Tom was complaining his went to red after 45 mins tonight. The expensive Night Rider one let me down tonight Chinky was going strong when I got back to the carpark.

Well my chinkys ran for 2 hours last week and I forgot to charge them for tonight, but one of them still ran for 2:15 and the other for 2:00. So you can't knock them all.

4hrs eh I think!

my chang light goes for about 3 hours Mick, sorry I had to head early and couldn't give you a battery to try out but I'll keep it in the car for you

did you see my post about sealing the battery up and keeping it waterproofed?
this is important - they can allow water in which wrecks the battery regulation circuit board unless you seal them up - I sealed my with a rubbery gluey compound - you could also use silicon sealant, cut back the plastic wrapping where the lead goes into the battery - glue the lead firmly to the battery (to stop it being pulled out), then fill the gap between the 2 batterys with sealant so it totally encases the lead, then seal the lot up with decent waterproof tape

meantime, do what I did and request a replacement, tell them the following is the problem with the light:

"There is an issue with the battery; the light turns on and off itself. When I press the bottom of the battery pack, the light will turn on intermittently, then the light turns off again. There seems to be some form of loose electrical contact in the power regulation circuit board"

they might ask for the SKU of the battery, it is SKU: 32756

I got a replacement within about 2 weeks

I use mine every day for commuting (40mins) and only change the battery every 2/3 weeks on the lowest setting. On full beam i'd say its about 2.5 / 3 hours (I have the torch style one). I havn't had a problem with the rain yet, although the mount snapped in half during the cold spell.

damn..i'll never win the war against the Chinese lights!! I give up!

You're wasting your time Richie ..... I started a thread on MTBR.com basically saying that I was fed up listening to people offering "MagicShines" as the answer to all problems (including World Peace!). So far there's 199 replies (literally!) telling me that I'm an unbeliever and that death and damnation will surely follow me till the end of my life!! Beware the cult of the "MagicShiners"!!

well they'lll all be sorry when the Chinese take over the World and the Hypnotic control substances seeping in to their brains from using their lights force them to ride nothing but High Nelly Bikes and wear their pyjamas everywhere!!
