Not much singletrack in achill but road climb up to the minaun heights and follow single track down from the masts overlooking keel bay is great scenery maybe a bit short.
pushed the bike to the top of the cliffs on the far end of the island where the ruins overlook the small beach keem i think
great crack coming down.over the bars about 6 times and each one to a cheer from onlookers from the beach below.silly but fun.

It takes about two hours to get to the top and twenty five minutes to get back down again. So time it so you're getting to the top a little after dawn and you've a good chance of beating the crowds.
Are there any other good mountains around, the chance of me getting out of bed let alone dragging 4 lads out of bed before dawn on a stag weekend are feckin slim.....
Probably a better alternative is to time it so that you are getting to the top just as it is getting dark and come down with or without lamps.
We probably would have got down with enough light bar a puncture which meant it was pitch by the time we got down so lights turned out to be essential. Great craic in the dark.
There is a great pub at the bottom waiting for you aswell when you get down. Might be an idea to let mountain rescue know you're going up after dark because they got called out for us after someone saw lights on the hill.
I'm relieved to hear there's only four of you sharing the bed, there is no way you would fit 15 in, unless it's one of those big round Hollywood yokes, is it?
